Have Faith In Your Morality

SONY DSC

Most of us today tend to run after name, fame and money. But we fail to understand that before achieving these material successes, we must first become responsible, dutiful and accountable and should learn to make appropriate and rational use of the available resources.

A person’s internal mechanism (mental outlook) should be tuned in such a way that he learns to live properly and let others live in peace; he himself should prosper and motivate others to excel. Neither should he tolerate injustice nor should he perform any unjust action. He should strive to become an exemplary character and inspire others to follow. Today the futile lust for wealth accumulation, the desire for hollow reputation, the wish to accumulate power and enhanced ego seem to overpower the true objectives of our lives. Once we acquire wealth and power we usually think that we have attained all achievable success. But if we muster courage to remove this blindfold from our eyes, we could clearly see that human beings are the most efficient species among living beings. And this could be proved by living with humble intentions and on sound principles, thereby remaining happy and contented irrespective of quantum of material wealth possessed.

Walking Alone With Courage And Determination

courage

We must try to understand the fact that we shall not find anyone like us in our life. We have to proceed alone on the path of life. Nobody can accompany us for long.

We shall consider our life as a journey. Here we might come across a few travellers who can accompany us for a while. We might talk to them, love or hate them but gradually each one of them leaves us as,when their voyage ends. Once all of them are left behind, we might feel sad and lonely for some time. It is natural for us to despair as we tend to get attached to them. But, the universal truth of life is only ‘Solitude’.

Even when in a family, we are alone. Nobody is going to escort us for long. It is nothing but sheer hallucination which makes us believe that our relatives are our long term ‘convoys’, in fact, their company is only temporary and we have to walk on the pavement of life all alone with only our courage and determination as our soul partners.

Fate! Can You Choose It!

Fate

Do you follow logic or your heart? Are you confused or afraid about what you want in life? Are you thinking of a big house, money, saving lives, etc? Many people in the world never get what they want due to this confusing war between heart and mind.

Find out what you want in life. This is the hardest question. We always have a choice; follow our parents’ footsteps, or decide what we want for ourselves, it is hard and simple all at the same time, how? When we are young we say “I want to be a fireman, policeman, doctor” but as we grow older, the fate is changing already, paths are colliding, our minds are thinking to much on what is important, these days “happiness, money, commitments” but we never have time to plan our own paths, finding that one thing that will make us all eternally happy, sit down, read a paper, search the internet, find something that screams out to your personality, something that will make you cry happy tears and plan that path, that fate, your new life.

Set your goals. Every life has a plan, but our schedules are always so booked, even if you want to do a certain task of volunteering it messes up plans with friends or family. When you want to schedule the goals and set them out, you need to find a calming place to relax your own mind, in the park, in your bedroom, even with music that relaxes you will be beneficial for you to find a way to focus on what you want, then just write, type and plan, remember to add dates where you can find a set target to be able to knock down the goal and move forward down your path.

Don’t let obstructions stand in your way. We have many distractions in life. They could be time consuming work, homework, people literally standing in your way, family or friends dragging you down or not believing in you. All you need to do is improvise. How can you handle being put down and still move forward? How can you keep up with your work and still plan your path? Firstly, don’t let anyone drag you down, those who aren’t there for you do not deserve to be in your life. You need people who stand beside you, not behind or in front, but by your side, ready to help you take on any more distractions, true friends, family will believe in your because you are a loved one, a son/daughter, no matter what, unless you are brought up in the torn family where love is not available, but you can easily find people to take there place, a teacher or group of believing friends. Second, work is easy, the planning is hard, easily find the time to do both, multi-task, hard to learn but if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish a lot, ask for help, friends, family, let them do a bit of work, gives you a break and time to relax the mind and open to new ideas.

Always believe in yourself. These days people drag you down, but life is about enduring, do not let the negative take over your mind, you can be strong without them, you can stand in a circle alone and still know that there is someone believing in you, YOU, so longs as you believe in yourself, you can go through any obstacle in your path just to gain what you need in life, our path is not a want it is a need due to finding your internal and eternal happiness, imagine finally, your goal was to graduate as a biophysicist, and when you get given the document, you feel your heart and mind fulfilled, and then you plan some more known you can go further, the sky isn’t the limit, you can go further, the galaxy is vast. You will find supporters and believers during your travels.
Accomplish greatness you need. All steps can lead you to the path you choose, it isn’t all straight through, it is narrow, curved, thick and heavy with a lot of obstacles in the way, emotional and physical, but as humans we have the capacity to push and break through anything that is thrown at us, make our mind, body and soul complete with the happiness we all rightfully deserve, and nobody can take it away, nobody can tell us what we are meant to be, we are our own person, our heart beats in our own chest, not those who do not believe, we are the only one who believes in us when others don’t. Go forward, break through the barriers and good luck!

You Have The Wisdom And Strength Inside You

Human beings don’t become wise by reading books – they become educated. Living out experiences firsthand in the real world, one day at a time, is what gives birth to wisdom. Ultimately wisdom is what you get when you test out the waters for yourself. This kind of life experience is the most valuable asset you own.

Sometimes on the road to acquiring wisdom life will beat you down, but you have to stand back up. Because nothing is more beautiful and powerful than a soul who has weather and grown through life’s difficulties. Don’t regret your time, even the moments that were filled with hurt. Smile because you learned from it all and because you gained enough strength to rise above it all.

In the end, it’s not what you have been through that matters; it’s how you got through it that defines your life and your legacy.

Hit The Bottom Of The Barrel! Start Your Life Again

Bottom
Be disgusted with your life now. Be sick of it! Ready to change. Never to look back! You need to be ready to put your old life behind you! OK ready to start? Then keep reading. No one can make you want to change your life but you. No one! If you really do want a new beginning read on.

Change the way you think. When you need to change everything about you and to completely start over in life you need to make some major adjustments between your ears. You need to think like a new person, act like a new person, dress like a new person, surround yourself with new people. You need to start thinking positively. Put away the I can’t, what ifs, and maybes and get down to the nitty gritty of changing your life.

Determine exactly who you want to be. What will you look like. What will you dress like? What will your relationship look like? Where will you live? What car are you driving? Take a good 15 minutes, close your eyes and really imagine the life you want down to what you feel like in that life. Take a good mental snapshot of your perfect life. You need to believe, without a shadow of a doubt that this person you envisioned will be you.

The second step is Major life housecleaning. To become a whole new person you may need to get rid of the same old people in your life that bring you down. You need to find the energy drainers in your life and get rid of them. Oh you know who they are. You know the friend that always creates drama. Your negative relative that is always putting you down or nay saying. What about your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse. I know this is the hardest person to let go of, but if they cause you to cry, or make you feel bad about yourself, or cause you to feel horrible in any way, t is time to say goodbye. Some of the people that have I have spoke to that have went through this life changing process have told me they didn’t realize how much energy and happiness a person has stolen from you until you have let that person go and you regain your happiness back. If you are only with a person because you love them, not because they uplift or benefit you. If you do everything for them, and they do nothing for you. It is time so say goodbye. Take them out of your phone, FaceBook, etc. Quit contacting them. Drop them like a bad habit. They are bringing negative energy in your life and you don’t need that.

The third step is to get healthy. You can not be an optimal person if you have subpar health. It is time for a full head to toe physical. I know this may scare you. Or you may say you don’t have the money for it. You need to do it. There are health departments in every county of the US. If you don’t have insurance they operate on a sliding scale fee. There are free clinics as well. Be honest with your health care provider. Do you do drugs, or drink or smoke? They need to know. Request to have blood work done so you know your sugar, cholesterol, etc. You need to know everything about your body so if anything at all is wrong you can correct it. This was the hardest step for me to take. Why? Because I am terrified of them finding something wrong. I was certain just a few months ago when I found a lump in my breast that I had cancer. I finally, after much pushing from my husband, went and got everything checked and found I am in optimal health. Let me urge you, you cant fix your life if you are operating with a less than optimal body. GET A PHYSICAL!

Note: If you have an addiction it is time to come clean. If you really want to change your life it needs to stop now. I know it is not going to be easy. But life changing events are not easy. You must decide, no one else can do it for you. Do you want to keep living the horrible life you are or do you want to live the life you have dreamed of? You will never get a high like living the life you were meant to live. Call AA or NA. Put your bullshit reasons and excuses for not quitting aside. Hand your head for a minute in shame. Get over it. Make the call or ask your doctor where you can go to get help. Check yourself into a rehab if need be. You need to get all that nasty shit out of your system. You can not live a normal happy life when something else is controlling your life
The fourth step is to have a form of income so that you can have a cushion or emergency fund. This is not to pay bills right now or to buy something you want or need. This is to give you a solid foundation to start living your dreams. Yes you can do this even if your homeless! May it be a job or starting a little business. If you are reading this you have access to a computer so your better off than some out there. The average person needs a minimum of $3,000 in an emergency fund. YOU NEED THIS. You need to get this in an honest way. Anything you do dishonest will bring you back horrible results. You can earn it through a job even if its at McDonald’s. Put your pride away. Its useless, and hasn’t got you very far has it? You can earn it by washing cars, delivering newspapers, doing housekeeping for someone. You can also do recycling, affiliate marketing, or by having a garage sale. I will provide a whole list later in this blog of ways to make quick money. Do this to start your emergency fund! Not for any other reason. If you need to buy necessities, such as food or transportation or such put half the money you make away toward your emergency fund and do not spend it for any reason.

The fourth step is stability. If your life is chaotic you are probably not in a stable living environment. Do you move often? Live with friends or family in a less than supportive environment? You need your own place or if you live with someone else it needs to be a positive environment. If you have one great, but if you don’t this needs to be your objective. Even if it is in a studio apartment or HUD housing. You and your children if you have any need stability. What if you can’t afford it? There are programs out there to help you! Quit boo-hooing and get off your ass and make this happen! You are not a victim or broken anymore. Get done what you need to get done so you can put this bullshit life behind you and start living the life you want. You can find a responsible roommate to help split the bills if need be. Remember to screen this person well. You need to surround yourself with a positive people and have a positive environment. You will not get very far in life if you do not change your surroundings.

The fifth step is fixing your credit. Credit is very important. It is hard to get a good job or a nicer place when your credit sucks. With the downturn in the economy most people have sucky credit. It happens. Deal with it. Don’t fall for debt settlement or any scheme to get rid of debt. You can fix it on your own. If it is too bad you may need to file bankruptcy. Either way if you have bad credit you need to fix it. Time will heal a bankruptcy. I will make a page on here of ways to legally fix your credit for good. While your credit is being repaired you can work on other pressing aspects of you life.

The sixth step is appearance. When you look bad, you feel bad. Plain and simple. Do you need to lose weight? Maybe a hair cut or a few nice outfits. Even if you have to go the Goodwill. You need to look your best. When you do good things will come your way. You won’t get a good job or attract positive people in your life when you look like a bum. You will not be taken seriously or at the best you will be dismissed. Make yourself up! Be proud of the new you!

The seventh step is regular work. Apply for jobs. Any job that you think you can do. Apply for 30-40 jobs a day to start off with. Make finding a job your full time job right now. Use your computer for something good for once. Do you need a resume. There are several resume writing programs out there free that you may use. Go online and google sample resumes. Now that your emergency fund is well on its way you need to find a stable job or start your own business. Some of you may not be able to get a job due to your background or other reasons. That doesn’t mean that you can’t make an honest living. I will devote a whole page to jobs you can do at home, or that are entrepreneurial in nature that you can start now without much investment other than hard work.

Rape : How To Be Careful : Part II

Rape - II
Carry a cell phone. If you feel uncomfortable walking alone, either call a friend or family member or pretend to call them. Walk purposefully and speak in a clear voice, saying something like “Could you unlock the door for me? I’ll be home in 3 minutes, it’s just one more block” or say which street intersection you are at. Potential attackers may be discouraged by knowing that someone is awaiting your arrival, is close by, and would come to check on you if you did not appear within the next few minutes.
The phone is also helpful for dialing emergency numbers in case you are attacked. Have emergency numbers on speed dial so that you can dial quickly, and if you are traveling in a different city/state/country, be sure that you have emergency numbers (e.g.: police, hospital, etc.) in your cell phone, as well as the number for several taxi services.
If you get a bad feeling about a person, party, and/or location, either leave immediately or find a friend. Don’t hesitate.
If walking down a sidewalk, walk next to the street, not next to the buildings, where people can be hiding in doorways, alleyways, etc.
If you are walking alone at night or in unsafe areas, avoid listening to music. You will be distracted by the music, making you an easier target because you are less aware of your surroundings and also may not hear the rapist approach. You also look like a better target.
If you do listen to music while walking, however, keep the volume low. Music at a high volume, especially if you’re wearing over-the-ear headphones, virtually eliminates background noise; you may not be aware of anyone following you.
If you will be walking in an unsafe area or in the dark, wear tennis shoes or bring a pair with you. Stilettos or other heeled shoes make you sound like a walking target and could even draw potential attackers from blocks away. Sandals are usually better than heels, but they are flimsy and could prevent you from running as fast as you can and could even fall off.
If all else fails and you are being followed by someone/attacked by someone, scream. Don’t be afraid to scream because you will feel silly; in some countries we have been socialized to “not make a scene.” If this is rape/potential rape, make the biggest scene you can.
Loudly scream, “Help!” or “Fire!”. Do not yell out, “Rape!” or “I’m being attacked!”. The reason behind this is called the bystander effect, which is a social psychological phenomenon in which bystanders are aware and witnessing an emergency situation but don’t offer help. During a rape, bystanders may not help for fear of getting attacked themselves.
If you want to and the rapist is not armed and he forces oral sex on you, bite HARD. If biting fails, always remember, “Grab, Twist, and Pull.” This meaning the testicles. It may sound silly now, but it may save your life.
Don’t panic because this will just make you easy prey.
If they try to, shout ‘dad’ or a masculine male name in a purposeful direction.

Celebrating The End Of Exams

Exams Over
Get your parent’s permission if you live in their house.
If you live in a dorm, get permission from the people responsible for the dorm.
Buy party supplies.
Call or email your buddies 1 week before your party starts. These can make sure your buddies are available.
Rent or buy some movies. You can subscribe to Netflix, going to the clearance section of electronic stores (possibly a good movie there), or asking your guests to bring movies.
If you can, rent an inflatable swimming pool.
If you have a video game system, ask your friends to bring controllers and video games.
Choose some popular music. You can use a CD player, or if you have an iPod, buy a dock so you can play your music from it.
When your guests come, greet them and give them a drink or take them to the room you’re hosting the party in.
For girls, have makeovers and manicures with your guests.
For boys, have video game competitions and have a paintball fight in your backyard.
Enjoy the party. Remember, be a good host.
Prank call or ding dong ditch other people with your guests.
When your party is finished, clean up!

Passing Exams With Great Grades : Not As Tough As You Think

E3
First of all, have a positive attitude. If you think positive, you’d get positive results too. Good things sometimes happen when you think positive. Tell yourself that you’re going to make it.
Study. How will you pass if you don’t study? Not unless you’re a genius! Study in the best way you can.
Be As Well As You Can Be Get a good night’s sleep the night before you take a test. For 24 hours before the test, avoid eating foods that disagree with you.
Record notes on a digital voice recorder and in your free time, listen to them like you would an audio book.
Read the Questions Carefully Many answers are missed because the question was not completely read or was misread. “NOT” is the most commonly misread word. When answering an essay question, reread the question several times to make sure you are staying on-topic.
Read each question in order, answering the ones that you know easily in your first reading, When you get to the end of the test, pause, relax, stretch, close your eyes and clear your mind for a minute or two; then begin the test again. Begin your “second sweep”. Reread the questions that you were not able to answer the first time. After you have answered all questions, if you have time, you can skim all the questions and answers one last time. Don’t change an answer unless you are absolutely certain. Most changed answers are not as good as the original ones.
Scratch Paper Unless you are specifically told not to, you can assume that it is acceptable to write on your test paper. To help yourself focus on the task at hand, you may:
Circle the numbers of the questions that are difficult for you to answer so that you can identify them for your “second sweep”.
Underline key words that will help you answer the question.
Write down pieces of information that you are sure you will need but are afraid of forgetting during the test.
If you are told that you should not be writing on the test, ask for a piece of scratch paper, and use that instead.
When You Don’t Know Guess The one exception to this is when you will be penalized for a wrong answer. For most tests, an unanswered question and an incorrectly answered question are scored the same. If they are scored the same and you leave the answer blank, you have no chance of being right at all; but if you guess you at least have a chance.
True – False
If ANY part of a true – false question is false, select “false.”
Watch for words like “always” and “never”, they most likely indicate a false answer. Do your best to think of exceptions to “always” and “never”.
Multiple Choice Make sure to note whether or not there may be multiple answers. Words like “select all that apply” suggest there may be more than one answer.
State Specific Memory State-specific memory is a term used in psychology that means you remember something best when you are in the same state of mind as when you were exposed to it. For optimum results in testing, try to be in the same mental state when you study as you will be when you are tested. Don’t drink lots of coffee to take the test if you didn’t do so when you were studying.

Exams : Concise Is Precise : Simple Tips

E2
Always think positive.
Always be hopeful and don’t doubt yourself.
Sleep well before exams, so your mind will be alert before, after, and during the exam.
Study less, with more concentration, if possible. If you want to study for a long time then you can take breaks in between to regain your concentration after you return from the break.
Do not study a subject only once. If you have more time you can revise for your studies twice or thrice, but only if you have a lot of time and have revised for all your other subjects at least once or you may forget what you revised.
If you are a memorizing person, or want to be, lecture to yourself (out loud) while also using your hands; this way it will be easier for you to memorize. Do a whole section, then move onto the next. Do this until you finish the whole of the chapter you’re working on.
Remember this analogy: ‘Study without ambition is a bird without wings’.
Finding out who is writing the exam can be helpful. This way, you might be able to understand what sort of questions will be used (i.e: short answer, essays, multiple choice, etc.) Just do not put all your time into finding out who the exam writer is.
The above tip is really effective, especially for a subject like social studies.
Asking teachers for help conveys your commitment to the material, and can be helpful in the future as well as with your exams. Always remember to ask your teachers if you do not know what she is talking about or if you need more information. The teacher will gladly help.
Always try to be happy, don’t give stress to the personal matter while studying
If you ask help from others, don’t joke around. Concentrate on what you are doing.
Sometimes people find it easier to study with a friend, while others find that distraction. While studying with a friend can be lots of fun, don’t forget that you’re supposed to actually study — not chat!
Various university facilities are at your disposal and you probably don’t even know it. There are usually personnel who are trained to help you cope with stress, answer study-related questions, give you study tips and other forms of guidance. Just visit your uni website or ask your professor what help is available.
Even if you do happen to get a C or lower on your test, many schools now allow students to retake tests, and will average the two scores out. Or, if you are lucky, give you the higher grades. Also, never forget that there is ALWAYS extra credit. Go for it whenever you can.
It’s better to study slowly rather than cramming at the last minute.
Revise the work that you did in class on the same day.
Eat breakfast — it will help you concentrate.
Don’t be overconfident, always anticipate the hardest question, and then everything will seem easier.
Don’t only depend on your friends too.
Don’t be too dependent on the teacher.
Start studying at least a week before the exam.
Don’t study only on the night before the exam. Study everything bit by bit when you come home from school every day. It’s no use studying everything in one shot.
Don’t depend heavily on the help of others.
Avoid stress from other people, if at all possible. Don’t hang around friends that worry and stress. This will rub off on you.
Understand what is being taught. Ask questions if you don’t.
Ask your teacher what are some things you can do to study for the exam
Although some people find it a “good” idea, drinking absurd amounts of coffee, tea, or any other caffeine source is not a good move, especially on the day before the exam. You’ll crash eventually and you’ll feel groggy the day of the exam, almost guaranteeing an inferior performance. Just sleep at 10.00 everyday.
Never be late for exams.
You should eat only as much as required. Try not to put stress on both your stomach AND your mind.
If you fail, don’t stress, hence the last tip! You’ve gotten so far, and you can make it back up there!
Cheating won’t solve your exam problems, it will just end up with getting you busted. Just study well. Getting good grades that were earned honestly will motivate you to study and achieve even more. You’ll also feel better when you get your grade!

Preparing For Exams : Do The Right Way

E1
Exams are terrible and stressful things to study for, especially knowing that they can make or break your final mark.
Create a revision timetable. It is important to budget your time, to ensure that you cover all the topics covered in the exam. Remember to take regular breaks and get out and exercise.
Rewrite your notes to aid memory. Rewriting your notes is great if you’re a kinesthetic learner. Mind mapping is the most effective way of doing this. Also, when you re-write something, you will probably think about what you are writing, what it’s about, and why you wrote it down. Most importantly, it refreshes your memory. If you took notes a month ago and just found out that those notes will be relevant in your exam, rewriting them will remind you of them when you need it for your exam.
Find the right hours. Don’t study when you’re really tired. It’s better to study for two hours in one day than to try and cram in that daily hour of studying at two in the morning. You won’t remember much and you’re likely to stop before you have studied what you need.
Don’t cram. Cramming the night before is proven to be ineffective, because you’re taking in so much information at once that it’s impossible to memorize it at all — in fact, you’ll hardly retain anything. I know it’s been preached to you many times before, but it’s true: Studying before and going over it multiple times really is the best way to learn the material. This is especially true with things like history and subjects dealing with theory.
Different subjects call for different studying. If its math you’re studying for, work on the problems. Don’t just read over it like you would for a history class, because you can actually do math, but you can seldom do history. Working problems out will help burn them into your mind, and remember: if you can’t solve the problem before the exam, you won’t be able to solve it on the exam either. For subjects based on calculations, it is important to do questions because this is essentially how you are going to be tested. With questions.
If you are studying for a more social subject, re-read your notes, or re-write them! Make sure you know what you’re talking about!
Choose good surroundings. How do you study best? In your PJ’s and your favorite t-shirt? With music or without? In your room or outside? Regardless, you probably won’t be able to study while there are distractions like:
Your darling little brother or sister is running screaming around the house. You are going to end up watching movies because they are far too distracting.
Your older brother or sister is bothering you on purpose.
Your music blasting, especially if it’s a song you want to sing along to instead of studying.
It’s too dark. Your eyes will strain in dim light.
You’re in a mess. Clean your room, as the mess around you really can distract you from what you’re doing.
Get enough light. For men, try studying with a dimmer light (though not overly dim). Statistics say that 75% of people study and focus better in a brighter room with little noise.
Turn the TV off, more often than not. Some people like to have the TV on quietly in the background. This can cut both ways in that it can distract you from time to time, but also can help you to continue studying. It’s a risky strategy to have the TV on: nobody really knows how much it takes away from your attention. Chances are it’ll be more distracting than you realize.
Take Breaks. You need some time to have fun and it is better to revise when you are feeling relaxed than to exhaust yourself studying all day! The only caveat is, you need to avoid procrastination.
Plan ahead. Always create a plan before you start studying. Remember that this plan has to be achievable. If 3 out of 5 lessons are easy and can be finished fast, finish them first, so you can spend quality time on the difficult lessons without fretting. Small tricks like these will help you complete your portions quickly.
Review your notes. When you are finished studying one page of your notes, before you move on to the next page, ask yourself questions relating to the material on that page to see if you have remembered what you just studied. It also helps to say the answers to your questions out loud as if you were trying to explain it to someone else.
Ask yourself: What is my teacher most likely to ask on the exam? What materials should I focus on to give myself the best chance of knowing what I need to know? What trick questions or wrinkles could my teacher introduce that might throw me for a loop?
Ask for help. If you need help, ask someone who is good at these subjects. Friends, family, teachers are all good options. If you don’t understand what the person helping you is communicating, don’t be afraid to ask them to elaborate.
Be prepared on the big day. On the day of your exam, look at your notes before the exam so that the information is still fresh in your head.
Get plenty of rest the night before. Children under 18 need anywhere from 10 to 11 hours of sleep per night.
Eat a balanced breakfast full of lean protein, vegetables, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants. A sample breakfast might include spinach omelets with smoked salmon, whole wheat toast, and a banana.
Get to the exam room with time to spare. Give yourself at least five or 10 minutes to gather your thoughts before starting the exam. That means being in the exam room five to 10 minutes before the exam starts.
